About Us

What is the ASA? The African Student Association (ASA) at the University of Idaho, founded in XXX, is one of the cultural groups associated with the International office Program (IPO).

The African Students Association is a student run organization which focuses on working to create a culturally enlightening community on campus by educating people about Africa and working with other groups pursuing objectives similar to our own. We provide a forum for the advancement of general African interests, of a political, social, and cultural nature. Through such social and cultural interaction the ASA has undoubtedly become one of the most vibrant student's organization on campus and the surrounding community.

Many people have the misconception that you must be African to be a part of this group. You don't have to be African to learn about Africa. The African Students Association welcomes all students to join and be a part of each and every event that we hold.

It is important that the voice of our general body be heard because this group is here for them. We like to hear any ideas on any issues that you may want to see discussed, any events you would like us to hold, any speakers you would like to have speak, and anything at all. If any member is to ever have any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns, we encourage them to contact any of the executive committee members, and the issue will be addressed in a timely manner.
